SAME CHURCH.
STILL STRANGERS?

You can go to the same church for five years and still not really know the people around you.

You recognise their faces. You might know where they sit. You might even serve together. But what makes them laugh? What matters to them? What does care look like to them?

Stay After makes room for those conversations. Not because everyone has to become friends, but because real connection deserves an opportunity to begin.

A QUESTION. A MOMENT OF LAUGHTER. A REASON TO LISTEN.

A GLIMPSE OF THE
CONVERSATION.

A little preview, not the whole deck. Turn over a card to discover one question and its optional “Stay Here” follow-up.

A little look at what’s inside. The rest is for the table.

NOT EVERYONE
WHO SHARES
SOMETHING WANTS
YOUR ADVICE.

Asking thoughtful questions matters. So does knowing how to respond. Stay After includes optional Response cards so people can say what kind of support they actually want.

RESPONSE CARDS LISTEN FIRST. ALWAYS.

No perfect answers. No pressure to share more than you want to.

PULL UP A CHAIR.
STAY A WHILE.

Different people. Different levels of comfort. One simple way to start.

01

PICK A CARD.

Choose a category. Read the question aloud. Start wherever feels comfortable.

02

LET IT UNFOLD.

Take turns, listen well and explore the “Stay Here” follow-up if someone wants to.

03

TAKE IT BEYOND THE GAME.

A question is a beginning. Connection grows in what happens afterwards.

DIFFERENT WAYS
TO PLAY.

From a quick check-in to a full group conversation, choose the way that fits the moment. There’s no one right way to play.

PLAY 01 — Choose a Section

THE EASY START

Choose a category together, then take turns drawing and answering cards. Use the Stay Here follow-up when someone wants to explore further. Stay for as long as you like.

PLAY 02 — The Curiosity Round

LET CURIOSITY LEAD

Spread out a selection of cards. Everyone secretly picks a question they'd genuinely like to hear people answer. Shuffle the chosen cards, draw one at a time and see where the conversations go.

PLAY 03 — The Check-In

CHOOSE WHAT FITS

Lay three cards face up. Each person chooses the question that best reflects where they are today. Share a little or a lot. There's no pressure to explain your choice.

PLAY 04 — Anonymous Answers

SAY IT WITHOUT SAYING IT'S YOU

Choose a question together. Everyone writes their answer privately, then folds and shuffles the slips. Read the answers aloud and discuss what comes up, without guessing who wrote what.

PLAY 05 — The Switch-Up

NEW FACES. NEW CONVERSATIONS.

Split into pairs or trios and draw a question. After a few minutes, switch conversation partners and pick another card. In larger gatherings, create smaller groups and rotate between them.

PLAY 06 — On Your Own

YOUR PACE, YOUR SPACE

Pull a card for personal reflection. Sit with the question, write in a journal or use the Stay Here follow-up to go deeper. Keep your answer private or share it with someone later, if you choose.

A little reminder: There’s no finish line, no obligation to share and no one right way to play. You can skip any question or stop whenever you want.

Church community inspired Stay After, but you can play with a friend, a small group or anyone who wants to get to know one another. Some Show Me questions are faith-centred.

Do I have to answer every question?

Not at all. Anyone can pass, pause or choose another card. You choose how much you share, and the Stay Here follow-up is optional.

What comes in the deck?

The deck is being finalised. The current design includes four conversation categories, Stay Here follow-ups, Intermission mini-games and optional Response cards. Final contents will be confirmed before launch.
